ヴィパッサナー瞑想の奉仕に行ってきました

お盆の休みを利用して、久しぶりにヴィパッサナー瞑想の奉仕に行ってきました。

今日は私の体験談です。

プロフィールなどにも書いたように、アメリカでヴィパッサナー瞑想をずっとしていましたが、日本帰国後での生活の変化やコロナの影響で、しばらくは遠のいていました。

去年久しぶりに、京都のセンターに行き奉仕をしました。今年もお盆の休みを利用して、京都のセンターに奉仕に行ってきました。

奉仕に行くといつもたくさんの事に気付かされます。

特に自我。自分のエゴにどれだけ執着しているのか。その執着を手放すことがどれだけ大変か。

今回もそのことに気付かされました。

人と何かを一緒にする時に、「自分のやり方でやりたい」、「自分のやり方の方が正しい」という思いがどんどん湧いてきます。そしてそのエゴに気付き、「私のやり方も正しい、でも相手のやり方も正しい」と気づき、自分のやり方を手放す。その繰り返しでした。最初は自分のやり方を手放すのが悔しく、時間がかかりましたが、瞑想センターという特別の場所で、自分を見つめながらの奉仕のおかげで、少しずつ簡単に出来るようになりました。

自分の思いが強ければ強いほど、それにしがみつき、しっかりその思いを握りしめ、手放すことが難しくなります。

正しいことは一つじゃない。これは以前の瞑想センターのボランティアで学んだ大きなことの一つです。「私だけが正しい」という大きな思い込み、執着を少しずつ手放すことを学びました。

その執着を手放せば、どれだけ楽に生きられるか…でも、その執着を手放すことがどれだけ大変か…

私たちは、その執着を手放すために生きて修行をしているんだなと再確認した10日でした。

「正しいことが一つではない」ということは、この世に正しいことも、間違っていることもないんだということになります。ただ、自分が物事をどう捉えるかが大切なんですね。

ただ体験し、学び、成長するだけで、苦しむ必要はない。
握りしめずに、手放す。

そんなことを、ひしひしと感じたヴィパッサナー瞑想でした。
